Dental Exam

New patients receive a comprehensive examination, which includes a screening for oral cancer, gum and bone disease, blood pressure, and systemic disorders. A routine oral exam is performed on established patients to determine any changes in dental and health status since the previous visit.

Your gum tissue is measured with a fine instrument ruler to calibrate in millimeters pocket depth between the tooth and the connective gum tissue around the tooth. Pocket depths more than 4 millimeters could indicate disease and infection. The deeper the pocket, the greater the extent plaque bacteria collects, leading to infection and gum disease.

X-rays are taken as needed.

Tooth scaling and root planing occur as needed.

Routine cleanings also include a professional polishing (prophy) that removes only the soft sticky plaque that is above the gumline.

Digital X-Rays

Our office uses the latest in digital x-ray technology. Digital x-rays offer a detailed image of your entire mouth and also offer up to 80% less radiation than traditional film x-rays.

X-rays play an invaluable role in the diagnosis of dental problems, as well as providing a clear picture for a dentist to accurately diagnose and provide the necessary treatment.

We place a small sensor in your mouth. The sensor is connected to a computer by a thin wire. Next, an x-ray beam is sent through your teeth and into the sensor, which records the image of your teeth and sends it to the computer. The sensor can then be repositioned to image other sections of your teeth.

The digital dental x-ray system is more sensitive than dental x-ray film systems, so your exposure to x-rays is cut by as much as 90 percent. The large and color-enhanced images let you see what your dentist sees, so it's easier for you to understand how your dentist will treat your teeth. Your dental checkups take less time, and it's fun to watch this system work! Most patients are amazed.

Digital Panoramic X-Rays

Panoramic x-rays offer patients a complete detailed image of the entire mouth, including the teeth, jaw (upper and lower), sinuses, and TMJ.

This provides a complete picture of how everything looks and relates to each other.

Intraoral Camera

Our office uses an intraoral exam in order to allow the patient to see the what the doctor sees at the same time. This allows the patient to understand the issues the doctor is seeing and helps the doctor in discussing treatment plans.

Micro Ultrasonic Scaling

We provide our patients with the luxury of ultrasonic scaling. It is more comfortable for patients and allows for the scaling process to be completed faster than having to scrape tooth surfaces like the conventional scaling process.

Had braces twice because of a mutant tooth, vacations always meant long trips to have them tightened and pain, so 40 years later I still have a problem with most dentists. Read reviews for Ball Dentistry and had to switch. They are wonderful! Major excavation to deep clean below the gum line was painless and we have a plan for long-term health of my teeth. First time I can say I know what to do every day and I am looking forward to my next visit to Dr. Rachel and Ball Dentistry East staff!!

T.R. Yelp

I recently visited Ball Dentistry North for both routine dental work and aesthetic services, specifically Botox. I have been coming here for years, and each time is a pleasure. Nothing bad to say about the office, staff, prices..all great! The dental and aesthetics staff were incredibly welcoming and professional, making me feel at ease right away. Dr. Andrea Ball's expertise in aesthetics is truly remarkable. She took the time to understand my needs and concerns, ensuring that the Botox treatment was tailored to my needs. The results were outstanding! Not only did I leave with a brighter smile, but the Botox treatment also left me looking refreshed and rejuvenated. It's clear that this dentist is not only skilled in dental care but also well-versed in aesthetic procedures. The office itself is clean and modern, with state-of-the-art equipment, which adds to the overall comfort of the experience. Plus, the convenience of having both dental and aesthetic services under one roof is a definite bonus. I highly recommend Ball Dentistry for anyone looking for exceptional aesthetic care. Whether you need routine dental work or want to enhance your appearance with Botox, this place has it all. I couldn't be happier with the results and the friendly, professional staff. A big thank you to the entire team!

There’s no one I trust more with my dental health than Dr. Weathers and Susan. I’ve been a patient of theirs since I was a child. They are the kindest people and actively educate their patients instead of just prescribing treatments. I genuinely look forward to my routine cleanings!

Braces twice and a crown for a cracked front tooth in 5th grade, so I have had decades of unpleasant dental experiences. Ball Dentistry East is exceptional! Major excavation to get rid of my pockets and it was painless! Dr. Rachel was wonderful, but excellent reviews have been posted for all 6 of their dentists, so they obviously select carefully for exceptional experiences! We have a plan, I know what I need to do, and can honestly say I look forward to my next dental appt! Do not waste another second with less than exceptional dental experiences. Switch now to your team at Ball Dentistry East or Ball Dentistry North for prompt, professional, comfortable and patient-first treatment.
